The Price of Love - Prologue

"Dammit." Misty cursed.

After years and years of searching, she had lost him. Forever. That day came back to her in full force as she realized just how much she had loved him.

[***FLASHBACK***]

*CRACK*

Ash went flying to the ground and he held his jaw. It stung. His brown eyes went dark as he did something that she had never seen him do. He stood up, drew his arm back and let it fly. Misty flew back and hit a tree and slumped to the ground. When she looked up, she wasn't staring into brown eyes, but rather a steely blue-gray set of eyes were glaring down at her. They belonged to Ash.

"Bitch." he rasped.

She closed her eyes. When she woke up, nobody was there except her. All of Ash's gear was gone and so was he. Tears slipped down her face as she realized that for the first time in her life she was truly alone.
