Reincarnated

I am fixing the prologue so that those readers with little imagination can at least semi accept this story. Seriously guys, this is a story, anything can happen.

Prologue

They said that Greek Gods couldn't die. They were wrong.

"Zeus, the rise of Christianity has caused us to lose more and more of our followers. With this drastic of a change, we could lose our immortality at any moment." Hades said to his brother as they walked down the corridor of the massive palace of Olympus.

"By that time, the mortal's weapons can even cause us harm. Brother, we must do something." Posiden said with haste.

Zeus replied promptly. "I know, that's why I had Artemis go to one of her temples to see if there is anything to help us."

"What!?" Hades yelled as he grabbed his brother's shoulder. "You sent your daughter, my niece, down where she could get harmed? Are you out of your mind?"

"Artemis is well able to protect herself from anything those mortals throw at her. We will not lose."

Hermes sped in. "My lord Zeus!"

The king of the Gods halted to a stop. "What is it?"

His son hesitated to tell the omniscient being. But, with a heavy heart he grabbed hold of the scroll that he had with him and unrolled the gold lined papyrus. His hands shook as he began to read.

"Artemis, daughter of Zeus and Leto, engaged in battle upon her temple grounds in Ephesus. The mortals attacked with great force, causing Artemis to be backed into a corner with only her bow and arrows. Her death was caused by a weapon that spouted fire and round ammunition. They call it the canons of Antioch. She died at fourteenth scale lunar hours." His voice cracked.

Zeus's eyes held disbelief as he listened to the dreadful news. He had lost his little moon and stars.

"Zeus, we already lost our immortality thanks to those mortals, there is proof in that of with Artemis's death. There is no way of us gaining it back. We have to leave." Poseidon said.

"No," Zeus's voice boomed through the hall. "These mortals have gone too far, by taking my daughter. This is war, and I will fight to the very end if it means I can avenge my little girl."

The war lasted for several long years, and many lives were lost. The demigods fought for their family but never held the immortality or as much strength as their fathers and mothers. The Gods couldn't fight against the new technology of the cannon, thus causing only five to remain when it came time to end the war.

"This is going too far, brother." The king of the sea huffed. "I have lost too much, my son."

"You are not the only one to have lost so much, I only have my wife and son, Hermes left."

Hades looked up to his two brothers. "What do we do?"

A long pause followed after that, leaving an agonizing pain with each person. Zeus broke the silence and gave the final word.

"We will leave and go into hiding." He started. "We will search for the right point of origin for the rebirth. We will prevent any of this from ever happening again."

"What are you talking about?" Hera dared to ask.

"As history is bound to repeat itself, every God and demigod has the chance to be reborn."
