Osborne House

The Queen sits in a chair looking out of a window to view the British winter. England enters the room to see her. When in front of her chair he bows and kisses her hand, the same way he had been doing for 63 years. "My queen" he said softly. "Happy Christmas." She nodded and smiled. She made a gesture with her hand offering England to sit down with her. England took a seat next to her. "My dear, we are to enter a brand new century." Victoria said. "Indeed ma'am." England replied.

"I am too old for the 20th century." Victoria sighed. "Everything I know and grew up with is all in the 19th century." "Nonsense" England replied. "Your people love you no matter what year it is." Victoria smiled. Something photographs rarely saw. "England, will you take me to my bedroom? I want to be with Albert." Victoria asked. England did as he was told. After all she was the queen.

They came into Victoria's bedroom. There still on the bed were Prince Albert's clothes. On the bed side tables old photographs and paintings that captured many moments now frozen in time. Victoria sat on the bed. "So many memories are in this room. I can still hear Albert's German accent." The queen picked up a picture of him. The photo was taken in 1848 and was hand colored. The queen stared at it as if her life was playing in seconds. England touched the photo and it all came back to him.

May 24, 1819

Great Britain was in the midst of regency. King George III had finally gone mad in 1811 and his son The Prince of Wales was now the Prince Regent. However out of all of his brothers none had produced legitimate children. The Prince did have a legitimate daughter named Charlotte but she died in 1817. A succession crisis was in the works until today. His Royal Highness William Duke of Kent and his wife Victoria of Saxe Cobourg Saalfeld has given birth to the heir of the House of Hannover in Britain.

Although a girl has been born she was still a legitimate child. England now had to break the news to two people, The Prince Regent and if he could, King George III. The Prince was happy to have a little niece. But now England made his way to Windsor Castle were the king had been kept since 1811. The door was guarded by two men in powdered wigs, something that had long fallen out of fashion. England entered and walked down a small hallway.

The closer he got to the room the more he heard the sound of laughter. Upon entering the room he found King George sitting in a chair in front of harpsichord, laughing. "Yes! haha. That is a good tune." Said the king." Your majesty." England greeted. The king was now a shell of himself. He had a long beard and long white hair. Around the room were remnants of the 18th century. The harpsichord, an old painting and a powdered wig was tossed on the floor. "Charlotte isn't this the best of Handel?" The king said to the empty chair next to him. His wife Charlotte had been dead since last year.

"I have come to inform you that your Granddaughter has been born. She is named Victoria." England said. "Now, now there is room for William Pitt." William Pitt was had been his Prime Minster and had been dead for over 10 years now. "Good day, your majesty." England said giving up. He walked out of the room still hearing the deranged king's laughter. He went back to Kensington Palace to see the Princess. He held the small child in his arm cradling her. The future of The United Kingdom literally in his hands.
