Katara's POV
"Oh! Please excuse me Zuko! I haven't been thinking very clear lately." I confessed, after I bumped into Zuko.
"Don't worry about it. See you later." He said with his sloppy grin, walking away.
"It must just be stress." I muttered to myself. "I likely shouldn't be here."
I walked to the tree, by the turtle-duck pond.
I've known Zuko for a while now. I never really ever know what to say, when all of my emotions get in the way.
I opened my book that I had carried with me, and started reading, it was a love story. One line on the whole page stood out to me.
"And I'm just trying to get us on the same page." I read to myself. "I always get right afterward. When all the wrong impressions are said and heard. How come I can never get the right words?"
"That is so true." I said to myself. Thinking about how I used to think that Zuko was a pain and a threat to have around after he joined us. It has been about two years. I just never get the right words. But he always likes my company I guess. I need to convey.
"I wish I could explain to him the things I have to work out. I don't feel right. What has come over me? I'm about to lose my mind."
I hummed a melody and sung my thoughts and the lines from my book, closed my eyes, and leaned back against the tree.
"I never really ever know what to say. When all of my emotions get in the way. I'm just trying to get us on the same page. I alway get it better right afterward. When all the wrong impressions are said and heard. How come I can never get the right words? I need to convey. Wish I could explain. Can I let the trees do the talking?" I sang to the tree behind, with a small smile. The tune, was high, and wishful. "Can I let the ground do the walking? Can I let the sky feel what's missing?" I asked myself. "Can I let my mouth do the listening? The listening." I sang a little louder. "I never really ever know what to say. When all of my emotions get in the way. And I'm just trying to get us on the same page. I always get it better right afterward. When all the wrong impressions are said and heard. How come I can never get the right words? I need to convey." I loved singing. "Wish I could explain what I need to say."
I felt comforted singing to myself.
I heard someone rustle behind me. I whipped up and grabbed water on the way.
It was only Zuko. Zuko! How much had he heard? He had a taunting smirk.
"Do we need to talk?" he asked.
"Yeah. I think we do." I confessed my cheeks turning.
He just smiled and took my hand as we strolled the grounds talking.
There! My FIRST published (?) fanfic! Fluffiness! :D R&R please! :D
