My name is Reiko Hatsumi. I'm a 16 year old student from KaiHou High. I have been known to have won various awards from my studies abroad. I have no friends and currently live alone. But after this certain event...i knew that my life would never be the same again. Why you ask? Well it all started with this...

Reiko's POV

It was endless torture, listening to the same lecture over and over again. I twirled my pencil in my hands in displeasure as I saw the horrible kanji that was wrong scribbled on the board. Was he even a teacher? All I wanted was quietness, no lectures, nothing and here I was getting all of it.

A sigh escaped my mouth as i pouted with boredom. A ruler slammed onto my head. "ITTE!" I yelled staring up to see who my violator was. It was Saburo Sensei. "Reiko san if you would kindly PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION PLEASE ON THE BOARD AND STOP DAYDREAMING IN MY CLASS?!" I groaned rubbing my head in the process as I gazed lazily at the question written out on the board. Psht too easy. I smirked. He chose the wrong person to mess with. "Saburo sensei, log 2 (x / 4) = log 2 (411) = log 2 ((22)11) = log 2 (222) = 22 and just to tell you before you embarrass yourself the kanji for new in new topic is wrong." I watched in satisfaction as his face slowly turned a crimson shade as the class burst out laughing. Revenge acquired.

...

I swung my backpack onto my back as I yawned. I walked through the busy streets of Osaka as I looked onto the big screen displayed In front of the huge building.

News

There has been recent cases of disappearances of high school girls especially in the areas around Osaka. A total amount of 8 girls that have disappeared. Police are now searching for these girls. If there are any people that have some connection or information about this case…

I frowned. Osaka streets were rather disruptive the past few days. Kidnappings, Murders, Robbery all that sort was happening a lot more. Just simply what were the police doing?! I snapped out of my silent thinking as I suddenly was reminded of the limited edition of "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" by Agatha Christie. Since the bookstore in the neighbourhood had closed down, it was impossible to buy the book there. I groaned. Of all means….it had to be gone now. Didn't it. I looked at the time. 4:32pm. Well… I do have enough time to find another book store, I thought with a slight optimism. Asking people for directions, I bumped into a high school girl with a high pony tail and brown eyes.

"Sorry! do you happen to know where the nearest open bookshop is?" I asked noting that I was in a hurry.

"Eh.. It should be just down that road and down the alley on the right. " She replied a bit taken back.

"Thanks!" I yelled as I dashed down the street and into the alley. I stopped abruptly, I was almost at the end of the alley and still no bookstore. Had the girl been lying to me? I shook my head, trying to clear all the accusations that filled my mind. Hmmm.. its should be here someone if she was right… I thought to myself as I paced around uncomfortably. "Clunk." Whipping around I turned to the direction the sound came from. Nothing. A drop of rain fell on my face and I brought my hand to wipe it off. Little did I know that the rain would be in fact a sticky red substance called blood. My hands shook, as I slowly gazed up. It was running from the gutter of a building. I grabbed my bag and fumbled inside looking for my phone, until a bat came into contact with my head. Waves of pain and blood came running down my head. Trying to see the face of my abductor, I collapsed onto the ground unconscious.

...

I woke up only to find in a dark abandoned room. I flinched, coarse rope was tied on my wrists as well as my feet and the blood from the impact of the bat had started to bleed again. My heart hammered against my chest, Don't Panic. Don't Panic. I cursed myself mentally, how was I so careless? Looking over my shoulder, I observed my surroundings. The room which I resided in seemed to be a kitchen, nothing was there except a fridge, a rug and also a sink. What about inside the sink? I peered into the sink. Bingo. I turned my body with my hands reaching for the cup. I placed the cup between the rug rolling it up carefully and then squashing it. A loud sharp noise echoed through the room. Oh how the heavens hated me. Footstep noises followed. I watched helplessly as the door opened. A man dressed clad in black came barging through. Great now what?. My eyes trailed after the figure in dismay as i saw him rummaging around in his pocket. Taking out a silver case and opening it he approached me with a capsule that was most likely poison. I edged back. I couldn't die now. Not now. Not ever. I bumped against the wall. I continued to fiddle with the glass shard, my palms sweating constantly as my time seemed to tick away, Come onnnn! Work! A sudden thrust to my neck made me yelp with pain. There was no way of escape now. My lungs battled for air as i writhed under the strong grip. I then watched as my captor then forced my mouth open as he placed the poison inside. I tried frantically to spit it out. But to my horror, I realised that the poison or whatever it was, was dissolving fast in the water. Colours danced in front of my eyes as the burning pain started, My bones felt like as if they were melting and my heart felt like it was about to burst at any minute, my brain splitting into two. I could not help it as a scream came out of my mouth, as I felt once more unconsciousness enveloping me once again. A murmur coming out of my mouth…

"No…."
