~Emily's POV~ "Run!" Nick yells. Some screaming girls chase after us but we duck down behind a bench close to the giraffe exhibit.
"Why did we come to the zoo again?" I ask Nick.
He scowls at me, "It was YOUR idea remember?" He makes his voice all high and says, "Come on Nick! Let's go to the zoo! You've been so stressed lately and it will be fun!"
"I do NOT sound like that!" I say with a laugh. Once all the girls are gone we jump back up and continue walking.
I'm glad Nick agreed to come to the zoo today. He HAS been stressed out and I don't want him to die of heart attack at like twenty or something. That would be bad. Another reason I'm glad is because, well, I LIKE Nick. I've liked him ever since our parents met, realized we were the same age and threw us together. We've stayed that way, together, ever since. You could rarely ever find just one of us. We is always just that, WE. It's not just Nick or Emily. It's Nick AND Emily. But not in a couple way. I'm not that lucky.
"Well if we must go stare at some zebras, we must," Nick says, taking my hand and pulling me off, further into the zoo. That's how it is with us, we've held hands since we were five, it's natural now. Not couple-ish at all.
"Oh you know you love those zebras," I tell him with a laugh.
"Oh yeah," he tells me. "They're my favorites."

~Nick's POV~ After goofing off around the zebra exhibit we head to the concession stand to get something to eat. I get some cotton candy for us to share. I've always liked how Emily and I are so close to each other we can share food, hold hands and talk to each other without feeling weird. But I've always kind of wished that Emily and I were more than really good friends. I just wish I knew if she felt the same way about me. And I wish I would stop stressing over that. I guess if we're meant ot be it will just happen. There isnt anything I can do about it.

~Emily's POV~ We walk through the jungle exhibit and look at bats. Nick threatens to push me into the water at the aquarium and I "accidentally" trip him on the way to see the tigers.
Once we're done there Nick announces that he wants to see the elephants. We walk up the big hill and see we're the only one's there. That's nice. We stand and watch as two of them takea bath.
Nick puts his arm around me and I automatically move so my head is on his shoulder. What are we doing?
"Hey Emily?" Nick finally says.
"Yeah Nick?"
"You know how you said I was stressed and stuff?"
"Yeah?" I say. Where is he going with this?
"Well I was. But, not about work and stuff really. More about you."
"Me?" I ask. Had I done something wrong?
"Yeah. I wanted to ask you out and didn't know how and well, I'm just going to do it. Do you want to be my girlfriend Emily?"
I smile, "Duh." Nick grins and pulls me close. And I finally get that kiss I've dreamed about for years.
