What do you do when the one thing you want more then anything, has the potential to ruin your career?
That question had been running through Andy's head from the moment she had put her shirt back on. She wanted him, that much was clear, and by the way things had been going, he wanted her too. But she also knew that it could never happen. She could never risk her or his career like that.
What's funny was, the thought of her career never crossed her mind when the lights were still out. It hadn't registered that she was putting everything she had worked for at risk. It hadn't fazed her that she was becoming like her mother.
But then the lights came back on and all rational thoughts came back to her. She realized the second lights came back on that she couldn't do it. Even when Sam had gone to turn the lights back off.
So she put her shirt back on. She checked her phone and saw Luke's number. She remembered who she was and what she stood for.
Then she saw Sam come back and she was tempted to once again become the girl that came here for him. The girl that was willing to throw everything away for him. He saw her look and instantly knew that it was over.
"Yeah everything goes back to normal." He smiled sadly. Then he tuned around and walked back through his house.
She turned slightly and picked up the pen and paper that was conveniently on his bedside table. She carefully wrote down a short note and left the house.
I'm sorry. I wish the lights hadn't come back on.
