Title: Felt tip marks fade. Make sure you don't.
Summary: ''She stood there like a ghost. A ghastly silhouette with her reflection bouncing off the nearby waters.''
A/N: This is my first V for Vendetta One Shot/fic so i'm a bit nervous about uploading it...i hope you enjoy. (Placed after the film)
She stood there like a ghost. A ghastly silhouette with her reflection bouncing off the nearby waters. She stared at him hard, as if she was a tigeress. She stood there, giving extreme consideration on what her next action would be. I ponder…she whispered into the dark, releasing air from her tired lungs, which soon turned into condensation due to the air around her being at least -3 degrees.
'V…' She whispered into the moonlight, capturing the full attention on the masked man whom stood before her.
'I'd do anything for you Evey. Just give it time…' V moved closer and wrapped his gloved hands around Evey, sensing how cold she had become within the few minutes of standing there whilst she waited there...unexpectedly for him.
'I have. I've given it enough time V. What's wrong with now?' Though it was difficult to actually see her facial expression, Evey produced such ones with sorrow that V took notice of them and held her for a good minute or so.
'It's too complicated to explain. Now just take good care of me. I'm fading like a coloured felt tip which has been drawn on a piece of clothing Evey, it's that extreme'
'I don't want to loose you that quickly. Not like last time…' Tears chocked her words as she tried to produce them.
'There won't be a next time. I promise' V sounded almost persistent in the way he was talking, but Evey took no notice and began to enjoy the embrace.
He released his grip and wiped the fallen tears away.
With no street lights around, the darkness was making it incredibly difficult to see and spot anyone around in the background. Both too lost in each other, they didn't notice footsteps approaching the circle they had made.
Bang.
Out of a gun, a bullet had been dispersed and tunnelled deep into V's back, ripping right out of his chest and into Evey's.
'No!' She screamed, though the scream wasn't released from it's cage.
Flash. All she saw was flashing, the sound of thundering from the above sky, the beautiful lightning strokes as they took over the clouds.
Split. Splatter. Then the rain fell down, covering both the couple in head to toe. V grasped onto Evey as a last resort to hold onto his life, as well as Evey's. It didn't work. They fell onto the floor, heads crashing against the stone floor, blood seeping out of their fatal wounds which soon emersed with the water. It caused the water to look like some kind of red water paint.
'Love you V.' Evey spoke with the last breath in her body.
V was unable to hear Evey speak her last words as he had died. Shame.
Evey woke up in a hot sweat, her bed sheets soaked. Ever since V's death all she'd be getting were these repeated dreams which none of them made sence.
Sometimes she heard whispers in the middle of the night when she awoke suddenly from a cursed nightmare.
'Felt tip marks fade. Make sure you don't.'
