Not surprisingly, the Seigaku regulars each received their own tons of gifts from adoring fangirls when the winter season fell upon them and Christmas time came. Most were made up of expensive chocolates and other sweets, along with fancy cards decorated with an assortment of this and that. All the regulars accepted every gift, each for their own different reasons;

Momo and Eiji because they could never turn down food of any sort unless someone like Inui had made it;

Oishi because he was too kind to refuse the doe-eyed, hopeful girls that offered him their costly gifts;

Tezuka, Fuji, and Kawamura because it would be rude to turn away the presents;

Kaidoh because he believed it wouldn't do to waste food, even fatty food that would totally reverse the results of all his hard training, so gave the chocolates to other people and threw the cards away right when the girl who gave it turned around;

Inui accepted the few that were given to him (not that he minded only receiving the small amount; rather, he was very thankful he didn't have to carry armfuls of gifts home every day like some of the other regulars had to) so he could analyze the ingredients and completely change them to make things that looked like chocolates, but definitely were not chocolates (a good thing to threaten and motivate the team with, and it's a change from the usual Inui drinks, he thought);

and Ryoma?

Ryoma accepted the gifts and added each to his ever-growing pile, which he planned to distribute among the people he needed to give gifts to. It would save a considerable amount of money that could, and would, be put to more useful purposes like buying cans of Ponta.

----------------

After a particularly hard practice training session one afternoon, Ryoma walked over to his bag to put away his racket, and to his surprise, a little package sat upon the bag. One glance at the little red ribbon tied in a bow that held the package together told him it was yet another gift from yet another fangirl. A shy one, considering, unlike all the others, she had not approached him with her present.

Uncaring, he casually picked up the little cake wrapped in clear plastic, hoisting his bag onto his back. Another glance at it showed a decoration on top of the cake, made up frosting. Ryoma frowned a bit.

He recognized the little Ryoma-head cartoon that was neatly drawn as frosting. It was the same one that had been on that talkative girl and the coach's granddaughter's tennis balls that one day he had to coach them…

The talkative girl would have definitely approached him to give the cake. So that left the quiet, shy one… Sakuno, he remembered.

----------------

The people on Ryoma's Christmas list found themselves with a heap of pricey sweets on Christmas morning. Ryoma himself hadn't eaten any of the chocolates and little candies; he'd given them all away…

… Except for the little chocolate cake with a little cartoon head made of frosting upon it, wrapped in clear plastic tied with a red bow.

He, rather casually, ate the cake right after tennis practice that morning, making sure Coach Ryuzaki's granddaughter was there and saw it.

Hiyo! This was a short little oneshot I thought up of a while back, and decided to post it in celebration of the holidays. A bit of subtle sweetness from Ryoma. So happy holidays to you all!!!!!
