Flames burn and people scream. Gabriella watches from the forest as her parents castle crumbles. She sees people who were once loyal subjects jump from the towers into the mote, burning. The smell of blood and flesh fill her nose, and the loud ear piercing screams penetrate her ears. She looks for anyone who might be escaping, but all she sees are the evil creature who started the fire, they are all en-circled around the castle, stopping anyone from getting out. He mother told her about the passage way that led to the forest, she escaped just before the beasts barged their way into the throne room, she heard as her mother tried to bargain with them. Nothing was working, her mother screamed and her father fought as much as he could. She broke out into a run before she was able to hear anything else. She searches the edges of the army, and sees her little brother, crouched in behind a bush. A small gasp leaves her lips, but her hand quickly covers her mouth, the leader of the pack turns towards her direction, she quickly blends into her surroundings, he stares at her, his eyes blood red, he then turns as if he saw nothing. She continues to watch her brother, trying her hardest to reach her mind out to his. "Michael, it's alright. Just stay calm." She tries over and over to tell him to stay calm, she sees him become restless "Michael, do not move!" Her mind screams at him, it's not getting to him, she must have lost energy, or he must be blocking it. One of the beasts notices the bush rustling, he goes to investigate it. He pulls Michael out and brings him to his leader. Gabriella watches in shock as the leader bends down to the little boy. He grins his teeth large and pointed; he says something to Michael, something that calms him. "Michael, don't listen to him!" but it's too late, by the time her mind finishes the sentence the beast has dug his claws into Michael's throat. Gabriella screams, and rushes out of the forest cover, she freezes as they blood red eyes lock on her. Quickly she turns and begins to run. Running through the dense forest, she hears the panting of the beast following her, but she dare not look back, she just keeps running, she keeps telling her mind to focus, the more focused the faster. He legs burn, but she begins to pick up speed, she can hear the panting fading. She notices a cave up a head, covered by deep moss, she pushes her self-faster, and then pushes into the cave, and crashes into the wall, a large crack echoes through the whole area. She can hear the beasts outside the cave, she holds her breath, and she can smell them as they run past. She waits 5… 10… 15 minutes before looking out to make sure the area is safe before she relaxes. Her throat is dry, she needs food, but she dare not hunt. She looks into her safety cave, limping she walks to what seems like a soft bed to lie, she sits down and holds her legs tight to her chest, she begins to sob softly, her mind racing, she tries to clear it, but before she can, she notices her mind going black. "No. NO. NO!" She yells as the darkness takes over, she blacks out on the cave floor.
