Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.
-Many Waters
Madeline L'Engle
We almost had her. She was right there in front of us, running and running…and then we heard the scream. The others did not know what it was, but I recognized the voice. It was Bella, and it sounded like she was in pain. The pack let me go off as they heard my thoughts. I growled as I saw the vampire's red hair nearby and hurried.
Where can she be? I thought to myself, worried that I might be too late. A picture suddenly came to mind of Sam and the others cliff diving. She had wanted to cliff dive, and I promised her she would. I roared, dashing towards the cliff, hoping she would safe.
I saw her there in the water, almost dead. I had to transform back into a human to get her, which I did rather quickly. I threw on the pair of pants I had carried with me and dove into the water, hoping I would get there in time.
I held her tight, not letting go for her sake. It didn't matter anymore if I lived or died. All that mattered to me was her. The waters whipped at me, trying to pull her away, but I refused to let go. True love, even when it is one sided, is not something that even the elements can mess with.
She lived. That's all you need to know. Yet our relationship was that of Paris and Juliet, and I was never to be the Romeo she deserved. All she wanted was an immortal love. I just wish she would remember that the love was a tragedy in the end.
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.
