A/N: I promise everything below the line is 500 words.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

My prompt was something I wouldn't normally write (Sirius/Lupin), 500 words, and the underlined quote. I did my best. Enjoy and please review.

As his lips slowly pulled from mine I felt my neck involuntarily straining forward, hoping to make the re-connection with his deliciously soft, yet forceful lips, but I stopped myself before he noticed my need for him. Maybe one day he'll catch me. Maybe then he'll realize what he's doing to me. Maybe...

No, that's just my own stupid dream. It's never going to happen. Because I'll never speak up.

Smiling that damn arrogant, perfect smile of his, a hand casually moved across his face, brushing his imperfectly perfect locks from his eyes as those grey orbs bore into mine.

"Bloody hell, Moony," he chuckled, tongue involuntarily flicking across those tempting lips without a thought to how many men and women had experienced them. "If I didn't know better I'd think you'd be wanting a bit more than snogging."

"Of course not," I stammered, stomach rolling back upon itself. "Just snogging."

"Good. Because I don't want things to get weird between us."

How could it not be weird? I thought. I'm snogging the man of my dreams, and I can't even tell him because this is just for fun between us friends. "I don't want more. That would be like fucking my brother," I said as a lame attempt at a joke.

"You're my brother, too," he smiled, leaning back, eyes reflecting the wide grin across his face. "But I prefer snogging with you more than with James, and don't get me started on Peter. If I didn't feel like the poor kid would toss himself off the Astronomy tower..." he shuddered.

"Yeah, James really is the better of the two," I mused absentmindedly, thinking about how I could never snog one of the other two without picturing Sirius' body pressed against mine. No, our little games were an addiction, there was a pact it would never get pass kissing. As much torture as it was to spend nearly every minute with the man next to me and know I couldn't touch him, know that when he was gone he more likely than not had some girl on her knees in the rosebushes or by the lake. Sirius Black could charm a woman out of her clothes with just a look.

"Don't worry, Moony. You'll find yourself a nice person one day, one that won't give a damn about your little time of the month."

"I'm sure they're out there, somewhere," I said, trying to keep my voice from breaking as he stood to leave.

"You almost done with your transfiguration essay?" How Sirius, ignoring what just happened. Business as usual.

"Almost. I'll give it to you when I'm done," I nodded.

"Thanks, Moony," he flashed that perfect grin and was gone.

"I love you," I muttered as the darkness stared to close in around me.
