Color Shift
Innocent.
That's how it felt to me,
His lips on mine,
Gentle and cool, moving fervently.
Out of nowhere,
Just to the side,
I felt a prick on my neck.
My eyes opened wide.
The fire had started,
I felt it in my veins.
I wanted to scream,
I knew nothing but pain.
Then, he was gazing at me.
Apologizing while ducking his head,
Averting the eyes I loved,
For they had shifted from gold to red.
