AN:/: (PLEASE READ) I have debated with myself back and forth about leaving chapters up and editing them or if I just delete this story all together and start again... but I have finally come to a conclusion. I'm erasing all the current chapters and rewriting the whole thing. Yup, it makes things a lot harder for me but lately I've tried rereading this and I just can't force myself to edit these current chapters. That's how unhappy I am with it

Anyway (you guys can skip this part if you want) so after a bit of writing here and there I have made a preface! One thing I really wanted to change when rewriting this was how fast paced this story was. I literally just jumped right into the middle of the conflict and started writing (sighs) so this time I am going to slow things down. And hopefully come out with something I can be proud of

So enjoy!

Lucy lifted the prince doll through the air to meet at the same level as the dragon. Carefully using her pointer finger she meddled with the plastic arm till if pointed towards the dragon. "Be afraid dragon! For I Prince Edward is here to save the beautiful princess!" In the other hand Lucy held a fierce red dragon whose fake scales glittered in the sunlight. "Mwuahahahaha! You puny prince think you can beat me, the powerful fire breathing dragon?!" Moving the prince so he now lifted a tiny sword she changed her voice as the prince replied to the dragon, "I shall lay down my life to save the beautiful princess, now prepare for battle!" The dragon standing in front of a blond princess doll that lay on the ground behind him, as he and the prince where both brought down to the ground for a battle. Giving the prince a menacing look he replied in a deep voice, "You're on." The prince leapt at the dragon, his mighty sword about to make impact-

"Lucy! Time for dinner dear!"Lucy whined but finally placed her dolls on the grass and ran up to meet her mother at the backdoor. "I was just getting to the good part momma! The prince was about to slay the dragon and save the princess..." Layla looked down at her daughter as she guided her inside with a loving look, "Well it looks like the prince and dragon are going to have to wait until the princess has had her dinner." Pouting, Lucy complied and followed her mother past the pantry and down the hall.

Lucy had always loved acting out her favorite princess stories with her dolls, she especially loved the parts when the prince would slay the enemy and save the princess. Often times Lucy would ponder and wonder when she would also find her prince charming, in fact the thought almost always crossed her mind. She mostly wondered if he would be strong, and handsome... her mind even going as far as to try and create what he might look like.

Yes, Lucy Heartfillia was hypnotised with the idea of having her very own prince charming.

As Lucy and her mother walked across the long hallways towards the dining room, an interesting question bubbled about the young child's head. After giving it some thought, she opened up the idea to her mother. "Momma, how will I know if I meet my prince? I mean, how will I know its him?"
Layla paused in thought, not at all surprised by her daughters question as she knew her daughters interest on the whole ordeal. "Well, firstly he would be very handsome don't you think?" Layla smiled warmly down at her daughter as Lucy nodded her head franticly. "And he would protect you from all of the evils and bad guys you may face... but most of all, he will stand by you no matter what and comfort you through your darkest moments and make you feel like no one else ever will." Lucy stared at her mom a slight bit confused and wanting more answers. "I'm not exactly sure what you mean momma." Layla did not push the conversation further as they rounded the corner to the dinner hall and instead she finished off the topic by saying, "You will understand when you are older."

Lucy; still confused, nodded and didn't push it any further. Layla sensed her daughters disappointment at not understanding any better than when she first asked the question, so Layla quickly changed the conversation.

"So, who was winning, the prince or the dragon?" Lucy gasped and stared openly up at her mother. "Of course the prince! Why he was about to pummel that dragon- "Lady Layla, Lady Lucy." The server acknowledged the two by bowing slightly before leading them to their seats at the dinner table. There sat only one more person, Jude Heartfillia. "Why if it isn't my two most special and loved girls." Jude smiled and invited them to eat. Lucy giggled and smiled at her father as she began telling him about her afternoon adventures.

After dinner was finished Lucy returned to her bedroom and began beading bracelets for her parents and the staff members forgetting about the conversation between her and her mother completely as the day died down and she was sleeping in her bed.

Little did she know, in the years to come she was going to find herself remembering and looking back to that conversation with her momma for some sort of guidance. Never in a million years would she have guessed that finding her prince charming would come to be such an issue in the future.

-AN:/: So yeah! That's the start; the next chapter will be Lucy in her current time at Fairy Tail! And I think it'll be around the time after the 7 years incident. Because I don't want them to be at the very start when Natsu and Lucy only just meet instead, I them to already have some connection. So yeah!

Next chapter coming out soon!
