"Why did you decide to marry daddy?" 5 year old Elizabeth asked Harriet.
Harriet thought about that question. She had married Sport, one of her best friends back when she was growing up.
"Well, I had met your daddy a long time back, and back then we were very good friends. As we grew up, and came out of college, we decided we should get married."
Elizabeth thought about that. "Well, that was a good decision, I am glad you married daddy."
Harriet smiled. "Yes, I am glad to."
At that exact moment, Sport came in, he was wearing his work clothes and holding two bags.
"Hi Elizabeth! Hey sweetheart!" Sport hugged Elizabeth and pecked Harriet on the cheek. "I got some stuff at the super market. Some cookies for Elizabeth, and coffee for you."
"Oh Sport, you shouldn't have." Harriet started, but Sport interrupted, "It was my pleasure, and it was a little something."
Harriet rendered about that, "Sport…" But Elizabeth broke in.
"Mommy, why do you call daddy Sport? I thought his name was Simon?"
Harriet carried Elizabeth into her arms and said, "Yes, his name is Simon."
Elizabeth looked very confused, "Well… then why don't you call daddy Simon?"
This time Sport smiled, "I used to love and play all sorts of sports, so my friends decided to nick name me Sport."
Elizabeth now looked like she knew what was going on, "oh… okay!" "Can we go home? I am tired?"
Harriet smiled and said, "yes of course, lets go home right now."
And with that, the family drove back home.
