We were sitting down there after seeing your fears

Lying about test results even though no one could hear

With the sound of pounding water and you voice

I couldn't help asking why you'd made that choice

But I wasn't pretty

Not at all really

So it seemed silly

And so hard to believe

When you smiled and said to me,

"Are you gonna kiss me or not?

Are we gonna do this or what?

Can't you tell I like you a lot?

But I don't want to miss my shot

Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

It was the first kiss that I'd ever had

And even better was the one after that

But I didn't know if this thing would last

So a couple days later I had to ask

"What's in it for you?"

You we're mad for a minute or two

Then you said, "Don't be afraid of me"

And you smiled and said to me,

"Are you gonna kiss me or not?

Are we gonna do this or what?

I know you know I like you a lot

I think we've got real good shot

Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

We were fighting and telling lies

We couldn't trust each other even if we tried

But I knew the truth and you knew me

When you found out I didn't betray you

You were happy and I was, too

And you told me and we both smiled

And I said,

"Are you gonna kiss me or not?

Are we gonna do this or what?

Look at all the love that we've got

It helped us through a lot

Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

Yeah baby, I you I love you a lot

I really think we've got a shot
