"Chocolate Bait"
By: Marie Damien
Author's Note: I've only written a few BSSM fics and they've all focused on the Four Outer Soldiers of the Solar System (mainly Michiru/Neptune). This will be the first time I've ventured out of my "comfort zone" and focused on two of the more central characters. Please let me know if I've screwed up characterization-wize.

Even as the regal Neo-Queen Serenity, there was no way that the carefree Usagi Tsukino would ever remain a distant memory. Behind the royal crown was a woman who enjoyed sweets and being lazy just as she had as a child. So it was no surprise to Sailor Mars when she discovered her long time friend sitting alone on the floor of one of the many rooms of the palace, enjoying a box of chocolates and candies. Serenity's legs were stretched out from underneath her silk gown and her toes wiggled happily, her heels abandoned just a few feet away.
"Do you realize how many people are looking for you?" Mars asked as she briskly approached the seated monarch. "Your husband asked me to find you. You're supposed to be meeting with - eh?"
Before she could finish, Serenity held up a delicious looking piece of chocolate as she munched thoughtfully on her own treat. Mars ground her teeth as she tried to look past the tempting goody, wanting to glower at her queen, but...
"It's really yummy, Rei-chan. Milk chocolate! You still like them, don't you?"
Mars huffed and placed her hands on top of her hips, prepared to scold her even further when she noticed the corner of Serenity's mouth was covered with chocolate. Fond memories of when they were teenagers played back in her mind. A lot of the times, she and Usagi would engage in raspberries, bickering, and bantering - but it was all in good fun. In rare times, Rei would yell at or even criticize Usagi because she was worried about her, and didn't want her doing anything that would get her hurt. Outsiders assumed they disliked one another, maybe even hated each other. Yet everybody who really knew them truly understood how close they were. Centuries later, they remained the dearest of friends. With a heavy sigh, Mars took the bait and went to her side.
"I swear you will never change," Mars remarked with a faint smile as she used her glove to clean Serenity's mouth. "All right, I'll have one but we have to get you back to your duties as soon as we're finished."
"It's nice to relax like this," Serenity commented as Mars took a seat on the floor beside her, the two of them now sitting shoulder to shoulder. She handed her the tempting piece of chocolate, which was quickly devoured.
"I suppose you're right... Say! This really is good. Let me have another one."
"But Rei-chan, I don't have that many left!"
"Then you shouldn't have offered if you weren't going to give me anymore, Usagi!"
"Awww!"
