A COGS Fan Fiction written by Jennycide

It was a crisp morning, the smell of diesel and metal filling my nostrils. It was going to be a hard day.

The desert lay before me. 8 hours of it. I was nervous, my first time at the wheel on a journey of this magnitude. I had waited so long for my time, and it had finally come. This was my chance to prove myself.

We set off at 7:30 exactly. It was a good sign that we left on time.

The road was without landmarks. Long and straight, a bush from time to time. A baby was crying in the back of the bus, I don't remember how long it cried for. The mother was angry, sounded like she was going to hit it to make it quiet. The father didn't seem to be around.

We passed a bus going in the opposite direction. I acknowledged the driver with a nod.

Time started to blur, the road became meaningless. It was endless ahead of me.

A bug dirtied the windscreen. Damn.

Suddenly and without warning the bus veered to the right, I couldn't control it.

And then we waited. They picked us up and towed us home.

It was the end of a dark day in my life.
