The Growing Shrink
The shrink stared at Olivia hoping she would show what had bothered her or holding her attention from the past appointments. The counseling was helping but there always seemed as if something on her mind that she would never talk about. He knew she had fears, and even the things about her she would have liked to forget. Her mind goes back to that night with Brian. Thinking about how perfect everything was. Like once before she was thinking about having a child of her own. Similar to when she was looking to adopt a child, but they said no because she's very much caught up in her job and is hardly home. Though, her home wasn't home, not anymore. Olivia would always came back to her nook welcomed with something, or someone. The most quiet home has been through the most. Memories continued to fill and crowd her brain till she blurted out "I can't."
The shrink stopped his ranting and patronizing.
"You can't what, Olivia?" She wouldn't even say anything; she was left speechless, and felt her stomach cave in and out, her head spinning, the shrink multiplying. It was too much, past experiences had left her fragile, yet strong in a sense. She grabbed her purse and left. The shrink seemed astounded but also worried; had Olivia crashed right before his eyes without any warnings?
