Melchior noticed a name written on his robe and on his thigh: KING OF KINGS AND
THE OMEGA MAN
When Melchior returned to Paradise, he immediately set out for the temple. The highway leading to the temple was crowded with a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language. They wore white robes and carried palm branches in their hands, and they cried out in a loud voice:
"Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
Melchior asked one of the multitude, "Why is the road so crowded today?"
"We were told that a special announcement would be made today."
"What kind of announcement?" Melchior asked.
"I don't know," the traveler replied. "We were told it would be today."
When they arrived at the temple, all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped the Lamb, saying:
"Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!"
The Lamb motioned for Melchior to step forward. "Is your mission completed, Melchior?"
"Yes, Lord," Melchior replied obediently. "On this day, Jim Avery became your follower."
"Give me the Book of Life," the Lamb said, motioning to one of the elders.
A hushed silence fell over the throne room, as every eye followed the Lamb. His movements were unhurried but deliberate, and the atmosphere was charged with electricity. His countenance was brilliantly radiant, like the glow from a million candles. More so than Melchior had ever seen it. It was clear from his demeanor that some great event was about to take place. Something truly momentous.
The Lamb took the book and turned to the very last page. One of the elders handed him a golden pen and the Lamb carefully wrote Jim's name at the bottom of a column of names. A stirring, rustling sound engulfed the gathered assembly and a crescendo of praise broke forth from the angelic host. The multitude in white robes joined the angels in wave after wave of melodic praise, waving their palm branches and singing, "Hosanna, Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of Jehovah."
The Lamb closed the book and sealed it with seven seals. "It is time," he said.
An audible gasp was heard from the angelic host. One of them turned to Melchior and said, "Why did he seal the Book of Life?"
"I don't know," Melchior replied. "Unless…"
"Unless what?"
"He sealed the Book of Life," Melchior gasped. "That can only mean it is time for his return to earth."
Then Melchior heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
"Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready."
Melchior's companion said, "But he sealed the Book of Life."
"Yes," Melchior said sadly. "No one else may enter in. Jim Avery is the Omega Man, the last person on earth to be redeemed."
The Lamb stood and motioned for quiet. His eyes were like blazing fire. LORD OF LORDS, and it appeared that his robe had been dipped in blood.
"It is time for my return," he announced. "My people are waiting."
