A/N: Second Idea for a Grey's Fic…R&R
Chapter One:
"Shit!" says the female voice. "This should not be happening. Note to self, tequila and unknown guy is not ideal for spending the night before the first day of work," the female voice continued to mutter. "I knew I should have listened to Mom."
Aidan James Johnson woke up with a pounding headache but with the best view in his life. He was looking at the gorgeous backside of the woman he met at the bar the night before. But it looks like she was not enjoying her morning like he was.
She turned to see, the sleeping man on the floor in front of the couch, was awake, "Hi. Look I've got to go up and take a shower, and when I come down I hope not to see you. It was nice to meet you, ummm…" she bit her lip.
He stood up from the floor, holding the throw blanket to cover his nakedness, "Aidan."
"Aidan, hi, I'm Taylor. So I hope you know your way out."
He smirked; he chose to ignore the question, "So you do live here."
She was confused, didn't she just tell him to go? And he wanted to make small talk, "No…I mean yes, it was my mother's house."
"Oh I'm sorry. I hope it was not recent"
"No, my mother's not dead, she is just not here. I just moved here." She turned towards the stairs, she points to her right, "That is the door, please, please use it." Without another word, she hurried upstairs, leaving him to change and leave the house.
Taylor Dominique Shepherd was late; on her first day of work she was late. Why didn't she listen to her mother, mothers know best. But no, she had to go to the bar, and drink tequila, pick up the cute guy who flirted with her, have hot sex with him, just like her mother told her not to do.
And now she was late.
She ran to the operating room, where the chief was giving her speech. "A month ago, you were medical students being taught by doctors, today you are the doctors. The next 7 years of your surgical residency in Seattle Grace Hospital will be the best and worst years of your life; you will be pushed to the breaking point. Look around you, those are your competition, eight of you will switch to an easier specialty, five will crack under pressure, two will be asked to leave. This is your starting line. Welcome to the game."
After the never-wrecking speech, partly because she was still out of breath from running, she followed her twenty or so fellow interns to the locker room to change into their scrubs and wait for their resident.
"Hi."
She turned to see the geeky guy with messy hair smiling at her, "I've got Jones who do you have?"
"Jones," she answered.
"You've got Jones too?" a girl with dark hair spoke up from their side. "That's the chief's son."
"I know." She knows William George Bailey Jones like a brother, he don't scare her.
"Jackson, O'Connell, Shepherd, and White" somebody called. The three of them with another blond girl hurried out to ask the doctor in front of the locker. "Dr. Jones?"
"At the nurses' station." They followed the doctor's finger to find a tall, handsome black guy with an unhappy face. He turns to them, "I have five rules memorize them."
Not the Will that she grew up with, that is for sure. And so her first 48 hours as a surgical intern starts.
