It was a day the same as any other. The sun was shining brightly in Ponyville, and ponies were trotting around, carrying on with their normal duties. Diamond Blade bit into her green apple, making it float before her using her unicorn magic. Sweet Apple Acres always sold the best apples. She sighed, licking her lips. Blade had not been in Ponyville for long. She had lived in another town, not far from this one. When she moved here, she had gotten odd stares at her cutie mark, which was a broken diamond, on the tips were blood. Mothers had covered the eyes of their fillies when she passed.

As she strode along, she bumped into a pink pony. Blinking her eyes to clear her vision, she realized it was Pinkie Pie. "Ooh, hello Diamond Blade!" she said sweetly, bouncing happily. It was odd, really, how this pink pony could still be so happy, even though her friend, Rainbow Dash, had oddly gone missing. Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity had been devastated. "Hi Pinkie Pie," Blade replied back, showing no emotion in her words. "Saay…" she began, "your cutie mark is…. Awesomely amazing!" she squealed, bouncing. Blade blinked, looking at her flank to make sure her cutie mark hadn't changed into something else. To her surprise, it hadn't , which meant that Pinkie Pie had complimented her on her jagged diamond.

"Thank you, Pinkie Pie…" Blade hesitated, looking at the frizzy-haired Earth-Pony before her. Pinkie just giggled, and finally stopped bouncing. "You know what? With your cutie mark, no doubt you would be great at making cupcakes!" she squealed. Blade blinked. How would blood help make a cupcake? "Yup! YESSS! This evening come to Sugar Cube Corner, help Rarity and I make some cupcakes! They're delicious! I'll even let you in on the Secret Recipe!" she laughed. Blade nodded slowly. "Sure Pinkie, I'll help," and with that, Pinkie bounced away happily. Blade turned around and continued down the road. She bought an apple from the stand and bit into it, thinking. Why would I be needed for cooking cupcakes? I've never baked a decent non-burnt meal… ever!

That afternoon, it had begun to rain. The water drenched Diamond Blade's hair, making it flat, some pieces hung over her eye. Thunder boomed above as she strode to Sugar Cube Corner. Nopony was out right now, however when she neared the shop, she saw an elegant unicorn with an umbrella. Rarity. Diamond Blade opened the door with her unicorn powers, and walked in, closing it behind her. She stood there as she watched Pinkie Pie strike Rarity. The white unicorn fell to the ground, blood creeping down her temple. Blade looked up, and noticed a blood-thirsty look on Pinkie's face. No…. She thought, horrified. The smell of blood entered Blade's nostrils, and the insaneness creeped in. Her large pupils turned into slits, and she neared Pinkie. "Cupcakes…?" she began slowly, looking at the pink pony. "My secret recipe," Pinkie replied back, smiling.

Blade followed Pinkie down into a cellar. It stunk, very badly. Pinkie lay Rarity down, and flicked on the light. Blade gulped as she looked at the room. Skulls with party hats, painted bones, flesh, dried organs. It was terrible. "Pinkie…" Blade hesitated, but was cut off by what she saw before her. It was Rainbow Dash, or at least used to be Rainbow Dash. A blue pony sat in the corner, stitches covering her body. Her wings had not been stitched on, instead, the skin had been stitched together where they once were. A false cutie mark had been stitched on in place of the previous one. Blade was too busy staring at it to notice Pinkie slip away. Diamond Blade approached the body with caution. She poked its belly softly, and shivered. "Oh great equestria…. No…." she said, frowning. She was about to poke it again when Pinkie coughed for attention. "Rarity is about to wake up, we need to hurry," she said, frowning.
