Dear Father:
Merry Christmas. It's been five years since we last spoke. Times have changed and memories have faded. When you last saw me, I was nothing but full of my self and a thought that only I knew what was best for myself. How wrong I was. I am currently twenty-three and graduated from college with a BA's degree and I'm strongly considering going back and continuing on with my education. As you have probably know, I am a partner in a leading Public Relations firm here in England, which is where I met my fiance. We plan to wed some time next year. I'm not sure if you knew that my final destination in life was England or not? Two years ago, I visited the British Museum and ended up staying. I worked for a year at the museum as PR representative and which then landed me my current job.
As of right now, I am currently living with my fiance. I learned quickly that living in England was much different from living in the States. Getting an apartment and keeping it is a bit tougher than it is back home, so I making do with what I can get. I wish this Christmas that I could come visit. I would love to see you once again, and make all my wrongs right, but I don't have the money, and I don't feel that it's right for you to pay for me to come visit you. That is why I am writing this letter. I will say this, you were right, I was stupid for walking away from my problems and for going out into the world all "bullheadedness." I hope that we can put everything behind us. I would love to be able to start my new marriage and have you there at the ceremony and be able to visit your grandchildren without fuss.
Say hi to Dr. Quest, Jonny and Hadji for me. Send them my wishes.
I hope that in the future you will be able to met James O'Connor and be able to see all that I have accomplished through you. I am including our engagement picture for you as a present.
Sincerely,
Jessica Bannon

Jessica,
This is the best Christmas gift ever. Thank-you.
The last five years have been tough without you. Where do I start? Jonny's been engaged three times, and as of right now, is currently back with the first girl he was engaged to, Irene. Hadji's been doing the nonstop school thing, and on the side, been ruling his country. Jonny's graduating from college this year and then going to graduates school to be a lawyer. Dr. Quest has decided to do the semi retired status. We still do the traveling the world, but not as much as we use to. He mostly focuses his time on Quest Enterprise.
I am proud of you. Though, if my knowledge of the firm you are working for, then I am guessing that the fellow that you are engaged to, James, is the son of the man who owns part of that firm. Congratulation on both the job and the engagement. I would love to met him and to see you. Pick a time and a date and I'll fly down.
Your letter you sent me renewed my faith in our relationship. After waiting for four years to hear from you, or anything about you, I was starting to lose faith that our relationship would never be pieced back together. I talked to your mother today and told her the news, she's excited and wants to met James.
Please feel free to call me at anytime.
Love,
Race Bannon--(aka-your father)
