^The Encounter^
-Lovino's POV
It was quiet and damp. The Italian could barely see with the blinking light of his now dyeing cell phone. Only the sound of his footsteps could be heard in the old abandoned school. Lovino Vargas, a sophomore in high school, had been dared by his little brother and friends to go to the local 'haunted' building. Feliciano, Lovino's brother, knew his older sibling was terrified of ghosts. He had two options. To either admit he was scared, or to get pictures for the newspaper.
As one can see, he picked the later.
No way would he show weakness to others. Trekking on, he tried to wind his way through to get out of their as fast as possible. To his complete dread and dismay, he was lost. On a scale of one to ten lost, he was around fifteen.
Clack Clack Clack
He started focusing on the sound of his footsteps only to pick up sounds of a nonmatching set.
'I am doomed for all of eternity!' He thought. 'Dang my stubbornness!'
-Kiku's POV
The same as ever. The same cold walls. The same dirty white colored paint peeling from the ceiling and walls. Loneliness. So lonely. He has been here for quite some time. He traveled all the way from the mountains to this place, hoping to find a little piece and quiet. The only thing he managed was to get himself lost in this dang place. Young Kiku Honda was not human what-so-ever. He was a tengu, a legendary Japanese goblin. In all reality, tengu were supposed to be ugly beasts. He was yet again different. He was beautiful. Any person who saw him would be entranced by his beauty. His black wings, as dark as midnight, looked as delicate as silk. Kiku's tengu traditional outfit fitted him quit well. If only someone was here. He heard footsteps in the old Japanese school.
'I swear, this place is a mansion. Who else would be fooled enough to get lost in here like me?'
-Lovino's POV
Lovino sighed in defeat. He scanned his small flashlight over the path in front of him. The poor Italian was hoping and praying to find the room his brother told him about and get out of this nightmarish place! Knowing his luck, that most likely would never happen. To the med. student, this place was no more a school than it was a maze. If only he knew who or what those footsteps belonged to. They were starting to horribly freak him out.
AN: That is it for chapter one my dear readers! This is just the beginning of the story. The chapters will get longer as the story progresses.
