Elena Gilbert, a beautiful doe eyed teenage girl with long, straight brown hair, daydreams in her History class. It's kind of funny, actually. That's usually what she does in History class anyways. But, suddenly, she's ripped from her daydream and plunged into reality. She finally picks up some of what her teacher, Alaric Saltzman, has been saying.
" According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. Zeus, fearing their power, split them all in half. Thus condemning them to spend eternity trying to complete ourselves."
The bell rings and the class is dismissed. Elena gets up and leaves, meeting her best friend Bonnie Bennett along the way.
"Do you believe what Alaric said?" Elena asked curiously.
"That everyone in the world is searching for their other half? Sounds like a soul mate to me, I guess it could be true. Wait! Did you see him again? What did you see this time?" Bonnie pressed.
"I saw the Eifel Tower. I was sitting at a café reading when he walked by, I knew it was him the moment he turned around. He has the most beautiful eyes. Love at first sight… and then I'm back to reality and realize I have daydreamed through yet another Greek Mythology lesson!" Elena said distractedly.
"Well lucky for you not only have you met the love of your life for like the hundredth time! But your best friend doesn't daydream in Mythology and I have notes you can copy!" Bonnie laughed.
"Thanks Bon, I owe you one." Elena said gratefully.
"Yes, yes you do. Now come one, off to Algebra?" Bonnie offered her arm. Elena took it, giggling all the while.
"Yes ma'am." Elena said, still giggling.
Bonnie and Elena took their seats in class. As the bell rings, a boy neither of the girls had ever seen before rushes in. The stranger meets Elena's eyes and they (unknowingly) whisper at the same time :
"It's you."
