It was a normal day at the guild. well, that's a lie. It was a night, and it was anything but normal. Mirajane had said that everyone needed to meet in the guild hall immediately. Some "Great big and important mission for the whole guild" type thing. It didn't matter, nobody would be in a good mood. It was Midnight in Magnolia.
Her story went like this: Earlier that day, she had found some kid laying on the ground, bleeding from the head, having Elfman help her, she brought him to the infirmary where he had received some healing . After his injuries were healed, he woke up and seemed really scared and confused. When Mirajane and The Master tried to calm him down, the kid used some sort of weird magic that looked a lot like Natsu's and managed to freeze Makarov's hand. Luckily the Master is okay but the kid is loose and he's the guild's responsibility. Also he's really young and scared so it would be the right thing to do to find him. The guild's response was a little less than positive.
"Why do WE have to find some kid at THIS hour?!" someone had said.
"It's because hes the guild's responsibility! Now, let's split up into groups to cover more ground. I dont think he could have left Magnolia or at least gotten too far away, so let's go!" Mirajane said.
"Alright! Manhunt at Midnight! Natsu yelled as Happy cheered next to him in agreement."Natsu, dont go around screaming it's a manhunt. It'll freak him out." Lucy said.
"Lucy's right Natsu. If the kid is scared and running in fear, I don't think we should be shouting the word Manhunt." Gray suggested.
"Oh yeah? What do you know!"
"More than you!"
"I'll make you eat those words!"
"CUT IT OUT BOTH OF YOU TWO!" Lucy yelled. Natsu and Gray immediately stopped fighting. They stared at Lucy, she didn't normally act like this. Maybe it was because Erza was off on another mission and wasn't there to keep them in check. While Lucy dealt with the boys, Juvia watched from afar.
"Now's my chance. After she's scolded him, Gray will be sullen and hurt by her rejection, and Juvia can come in as a shoulder to cry on. Once that happens, it'll only be a short while before Gray realizes that I am the woman of his dreams!" Juvia thought to herself.
"YES!" She cried. She opened her eyes and realized Gray was standing right in front of her.
"Oh okay. Lets get a move on, partner. Lucy, you come with us too, okay?" Gray said to her. "Yes Sir, Mr. Gray." Wendy said.
Did that really just happen? Did Gray just ask HER to be partners with HIM?! "Looks like my plan is falling into place faster than I thought" She thought to herself. "Wendy is just a kid so she wont be too much of a problem."
As Team Natsu split up, with Gray, Wendy and Juvia covering one side of own, and Natsu, Happy and Lucy covering the other, the kid had nowhere to hide. He would be found by Fairy Tail.
