"Carter."

"What is it, sir?"

"Carter."

"What?"

"Carter."

"What?"

"Carter."

"What do you want, Colonel?"

"Carter."

"Sir, if you're not going to answer me –"

"Carter."

"For the love of God sir, I'm trying to work!" Major Samantha Carter tore her gaze away from the microscope she had been staring into to glare at her CO, exasperated. Said offending CO, Colonel Jack O'Neill, was leaning on the other end of her work station, watching her intently. He shot her one of his trademark why-are-you-looking-at-me-I-didn't-do-anything grins. However, he soon grew tired of that expression and changed it to one of a pouting child.

"I'm bored." He whined.

"So go do something that doesn't involve annoying me while I'm working, sir."

"No. Entertain me." Sam gaped at him. "Entertain you?!" she squeaked.

Jack shrugged, "You're my subordinate. You have to do as I say. Entertain me." Sam slowly rounded the desk until she was standing only a few feet away from him, gesturing in disbelief. "You want me to entertain you? How in the world do you expect me to do that?"

Jack threw his hands up in the air as a sign of frustration. "I don't know! You're a smart woman, you think of something! You have permission to speak and act freely, just do something! This base is so boring when there are no apocalypses to avert!" he whined. Sam regarded him closely for a moment, and then turned her head from side to side, searching for the key element in her quickly developing plot.

"Permission to speak and act freely, you say?" she asked, her eyes falling on the bustle of random objects that occupied the end of the work station closest to them.

"Yes, permission to speak and act freely! Whatever you want, just –" Jack was cut short as Sam grabbed a clear, plastic bottle from the assortment of knick knacks on her desk, unscrewed the lid, held it over the Colonel's head, and tipped it all in one smooth motion, soaking her CO in vitamin water.

"There. Are you entertained?" she demanded, replacing the now-empty bottle on the desk and stalking out of her lab, leaving Jack standing in his own quickly accumulating puddle. The Colonel stood stunned for a minute, then sighed and wiped the excess water of his face.

"You give them just a little freedom…"
