I emerged slowly from the dusty pile of debris, reflexively checking myself for my belt and other hidden tools "Gone..." I muttered steadily prying my foot out from under a large piece of concrete. Oddly enough nothing was broken, even stranger was the fact that I couldn't recall why I would be in that position either.
In fact, I couldn't remember anything from the past night, but the sun was coming up, confirming my hunch that I had been out for a while. I noticed my grappel was still in place, so I wasn't completely equipmentless. I headed for Wayne Tower, where there would be a changee of clothes as well as answers, my logs should tell me exactly what was going on last night.
After I changed into a fresh suit and replaced my equipment, I headed back to the Cave. To my surprise, Alfred didn't greet me, in fact the Cave was locked up tight, similiar to when I went to sleep at dawn. I used the auxilary enterance, which I could open from either side, and entered, puzzled by what was the most unusual return home yet.
After checking the Logs I finally learned what happened last night. Nightwing and I had tracked Toyman to a warehouse, the same as I had woken up in.
Looking at the logs brought more concern then relief. There were logs filed AFTER the encounter, during the time I should have been buried, all filed with MY passcode and encryption, as well as nothing filed from Nightwing, which was also worrying. If I was M.I.A, the procedure I taught him was to add his own observations and notes to the log, which he hadn't done.
I put my equipment away and headed up the winding stairway to the hidden door to the Cave, behind the grandfather clock in the study. Still did not encounter Alfred, which was starting to concern me.
I made for my bedroom, intending to get three hours of sleep before the weekly board of directer meeting I needed to attend. I opened the door to my room only to find something that, even by MY standards, was alarming and...Impossible
