Chapter 1
Midori opened her eyes and gazed at the ceiling with surprise. She had gazed at this ceiling many times, twice for the birth of her siblings, but now many more times due to her father's injuries.
"Hey, are you okay?" a horribly familiar voice asked her.
She froze, looking across the bed at the blonde haired, blue-eyed twelve year. Midori felt her eyes water as they gazed into the eyes of the man she feared she would never see again.
"Oh my God," Midori whispered, "I-I'm sorry, it-it's just…"
"Hey, it's alright," he smiled, "If you need to talk, I'll listen."
"No," she hated how similar they were, "I'm just wondering about my siblings?"
"They're alright," he reassured her, "Your older brother is being questioned, but your younger siblings are next door. They're fine."
Midori felt like crying, hearing him comfort her.
"This shouldn't be happen, he should be here," Midori thought sadly.
"Dobe, the Hokage wants you," a twelve-year-old Sasuke Uchiha snapped.
"Coming teme," Naruto cried, "If you need to talk come find me."
Midori watched them leave, remembering her family.
Flashback
"Mommy! Mommy!" Six-year-old Midori ran up to her dark haired "mother", "Mommy, when's daddy coming home?"
"I'm not sure," her mother picked her up. "He's at war baby, he might not come home."
"He will Mommy," Midori told her mother, kissing her mother's cheek sloppily, " 'Cause he woves you, he said!"
"Did he really?" Came a laughing voice from the door way, "Now why would he say that?"
"DADDY!" Midori cried, wriggling out of her mommy's arms and hugging her daddy, "You're back!"
"Of course! I couldn't leave mommy alone with my little monsters," he laughed, hugging her mommy.
"Hn…dobe," Midori heard her mother's affection even then.
End of Flash Back
Wiping her eyes, Midori walked out of the room, and into her siblings room.
"Mi!" her youngest sister cried, "Where's Ro-Ro?"
"Ro's talking to baa-chan," Midori smiled at Yumi, "He'll be okay."
"Mi!" Midori smiled at the twins Kisho and Saika.
"Hey kids," she gave them a hug, "We have to stay here until Ro explains what happening."
"Mi, we saw Daddy," Saika told her
