TITLE: Just Some Crush

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter.

AN: See if you can guess who Taurus Dumbledore really is...

A familiar deep laugher made it's way to her ears somehow above the buzzing chatter in the Great Hall. The girl in question was a seventh year Gryffindor with fiery red hair and bright green eyes. Lily Evans' ears perked up and she turned her head, slowly as though to not bring notice to what she was doing, although the surrounding seventh and sixth year Gryffindor girls smirked knowingly.

Her eyes landed on him.

Sparkling, bright white eyes. Slightly wavy, shoulder-length black hair. Pearly white teeth. Seeing him made her legs weak and her palms begin to sweat. She discreetly wiped them on her robes as she 'subtly' stared at him.

His name was Taurus Dumbledore. And he was the most handsome man she had ever seen.

"Staring again, Lil's?"

"Y'know, one of these days he's going to catch you."

Lily rolled her eyes at her friends remarks as the others chuckled.

Marlene MacKinnon, a seventh year, laughed lightly, "Either that or Potter will. No doubt he'd try to hex Dumbledore into oblivion."

"Or steal you away and hide you until you said yes to a marriage proposal." suggested a smirking Alice Lightwood.

Another girl next to Alice scoffed, "Please, Lightwood. You're no better. Frank Longbottom ring any bells?"

The girls around the table laughed as Alice blushed brightly and kept her eyes firmly on her plate and away from a tall, brown haired boy who sat down the Gryffindor table, and, coincidently, next to Taurus.

"Please, it's never going to happen."

Alice looked up in indignation, "You don't know that!" Lily and the rest chuckled.

"At least Alice isn't as bad as Potter. What was it last week? Sugar Quills writing poetry in the air?" one of the girls, Amelia Bones, teased.

A sixth year shook her head, "He had the House Elves sing to her in the middle of Transfiguration. McGonagall was not impressed."

"Neither was Lily."

Lily huffed and swung her hair to her back, "He has got nothing that would ever impress me."

"Nothing that you've seen." laughed a now recovered Alice. The rest of the group joined in when Lily tried to fight off the growing blush on her cheeks.

Lily rolled her eyes again and allowed her gaze to settle, once again, on the boy who had captivated her since his surprise arrival. She remembered it like it was yesterday...

They were all sat at breakfast in the Great Hall when suddenly there was this loud bang, and a scrawny boy, who looked suspiciously like James Potter, fell out of the sky. He, of course, was knocked unconscious, but before anyone could get a proper look at him, the Headmaster had swooped down, picked up what looked like a necklace off of the floor next to the boy, and then had just levitated him out of the Hall. After finally getting over his entrance, the whole school was then introduced to him as Dumbledore's nephew who had just come from the Americas, were his family had been lost to Voldemort himself, and that Taurus had gone down fighting the Lord one on one; before doing the impossible and appariting into Hogwarts. When Dumbledore had been questioned at to why he looked so different as to when he first arrived, he had said that Taurus had charmed glamour's on himself in case his arrival caused some questioning that meant that Dumbledore did not think that it was a good idea for their relationship to be known.

The fact that this new boy and had seen and fought He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and lived, meant most girls at the school had a crush on him. Mixed in with his dashingly handsome good looks, he was rather irresistible. But, the thing that had Lily hooked, was his constant pensive expression. Most of the boys in her school had trouble looking thoughtful, let alone contemplative.

Lily sighed and set her chin in her hand as her elbow rested on the table. She watched as Taurus Dumbledore laughed again, carefree it seemed.

She wasn't sure if it was love.

But it sure as bloody Merlin wasn't just some crush.
