"I don't love you"
The cold assassin blinked back, confused at the sudden exclamation during their battle.
"What?"
Lena smacked her head. She laughed, a hysterical laugh, one that came out because no other action seemed fitting for her mad realization.
Lena Oxton did not love Amelie.
No. The dark obsidian haired goddess was right-she was a fool.
She loved Widowmaker.
When she first saw the killer on the roof, her first intention was getting her old friend back.
But the nights of ballads and sweet bullet kisses grazing one another during their nightly routine was something she commenced with widowmaker, not amelie.
And slowly but surely she realized that if Amelie came back, their nights would end. Amlie, the woman who she saw once or twice at overwatch dinner parties. The woman she glanced at a few times and exchanged short quips here and there. She didn't know amelie.
Ah, but she did know widowmaker.
She knew, through their evenings spent together, how to read the softest change in her features-lips curled when she appears on the rooftop for their nightly spars, eyes ablaze when bullets graze her skin.
Alive in the moonlight when they turn the cities' rooftop into their dance floor.
Amelie was the woman Tracer vowed to save.
Widowmaker was the shadow of the woman who vowed to kill anyone who tried.
Amelie was the woman who loved Gerard.
Widowmaker was the woman who Tracer loved.
The madness. Tracer laughed. She laughed until tears spilled from her eyes and she dropped to her knees.
"I'm so sorry…. I don't love you."
Widowmaker didn't move. She saw it coming. She knew nobody would love her. Nobody could love her or the monstrosity that she was. It was about time this ball of sunshine came to that realization. She approached the brunette cautiously.
"I don't love you, Amelie. I love Widowmaker."
Ba-bump
Ba-bump
This time, Widowmaker did flinch. For the first time, she felt the muscle in her ribcage pound, even if just for several seconds. An unfamiliar warm feeling twisted in her chest and stomach and pulled Lena into a hug.
"Foolish girl."
All Lena could do was laugh. "I know."
-A/N-
Just a weird thought that came to me one day. I don't think Amelie and Lena would get along, but Tracer and Widow would. Tracer is attracted to Widow becuase on the inside of that ray of sunshine is a black hole, and the only person who can tame it is Widow. Something like that. Ayways here it is.
