Trust Your Heart

Prologue:
The story takes place after the first movie. All of China had been celebrating the victory over the Huns. Shang had already visited the Fa house. In fact he had been visiting for over a month now and he and Mulan had become very good friends. The best of friends in fact.
Shang decided that it was finally time to get Fa Zhou's blessing. He wanted nothing more than to marry Mulan. She was absolutely perfect: smart, strong, and beautiful. She was everything he always wanted and more. She was every man's dream, and he hoped he could be the one to marry her. He knew he could treat her better than everyone else. He thought that he alone knew what was best for her. Even though he knew that she was in such a higher rank then him, he hoped his new rank as a general would allow him the pleasure of marrying her.
Shang was extremely nervous. He knew he shouldn't be, after all he had fought Huns, but he was. He finally gathered all of his courage and began walking to Fa Zhou.
Mulan had had a blast the last month. She had saved China, returned home, and restored honor in her family. She also had spent the last month with Shang. She cared for him greatly and missed him the four days he was gone to return to his home. She was living a fairy tale life. She was one of the most famous people in China, even though she did not want that. She did not like all of the fake praise her town was giving her, but she did enjoy the letters that the emperor sent to her. Every thing was perfect.
When Shang arrived at the Fa house, he immediately went over to Fa Zhou. Fa Zhou, a very wise man, already knew what was coming. Shang respectfully asked to have Mulan's hand in marriage. Fa Zhou was so excited. He told Shang that he could have Mulan's hand in marriage if he could get Mulan to agree. Fa Zhou, knowing Mulan deeply cared for Shang, sat back and watched as the young general hurried along to find Mulan.
Mulan was sitting under the Magnolia tree when Shang came running up.
"Shang, What is it?" Mulan asked worriedly.
"Mulan, umm, I have something to ask you….Would you…..be my….wife? I know you could have such better suitors but I love you and-" Shang was shut up by a kiss from Mulan. "Can I take that as a yes?"
