Like A Flower

It wasn't love at first sight, but it was still love.

Well, it wasn't love at first sight for her, but it was love at first sight for him although she had mistaken his confession as a joke. Heh, which love story started with a boy confessing his love in his boxer?

Their love was the kind that had grown slowly. From being planted as a seed ever since their first meeting, and beginning to grow throughout the time they spent as friends. And to finally bloom as a beautiful flower during the day he decided to confess to her once again.

It wasn't complicated, nor was it easy for both of them.

He had fallen for her first, when he first laid his eyes on her during their high school ceremony. But back then, he used to think that he won't have a chance to ever be with her. However, in the end, she had turned out to be something more than just a 'mere crush'.

He had tried to confess his undying love for her for at least a thousand times, but it was not until they were sent to the future, the love had finally turned into real love. It was when she was suddenly dragged into the fight along with him. He had never felt such a rage before, such determinedness to protect her. Then one thought had flown through his head as he dashed to rescue her.

I will protect Kyoko-chan. No matter what! I won't let anyone hurt her!

And his heart realized how much he truly loved her. Although, maybe his heart had always know it all along.

She fell for him much later, but she realized it even late. They had finally settled down in the future and while everyone had a task to do, she found herself nothing to do. It was when she decided to calm down and the memory of Tsuna protecting her when they came to the future flashed in her mind.

She realized that Tsuna had done so many for her. All the time. From their first meeting 'till now, he will always be there to protect her from danger where her brother wasn't there. Everything he did, even the smallest things, she had slowly come to like. The twinkle in his eyes when she spoke to him, how he beamed with happiness when she complimented him, the way he made her feel so dear and precious deep inside him and how her whole body felt pleasant as his warm arms wrapped around her small body to keep her safe from being hurt….

And it was then that her heart suddenly knew, over a simple promise, who he was protecting and willing to sacrifice for.

Their love grew for each other, watered by his daily care and love for her and her increasing kindness towards him. It grew slowly and had to be nurtured everyday, like a flower bud that waited to be bloom. They started to held each other's hand more often and she will always be there supporting him and comforting him whenever he felt uneasy in the mafia world.

And then one night came and they kissed, under the full moon and the sparkling starts while the cold breeze blew through them. It would have been very romantic if it weren't their friends' drunken snores.

The flower blossomed and continues to grow. It became stronger each and every day, because that was the kind of love they shared. It was mature, sweet, innocent and needed lots of nurturing and taking care of. Sure it had been up and down, but they never fell out of it.

It was nonetheless true love.

And their flower will never wither
