She sat on her knees in the middle of the burning village, tears running down her cheeks at a violent rate.

The looked to her left, at Naruto's apartment complex. Then to the right, at her own. Behind her the hokage tower was in ashes, having been the first thing to go. Ahead of her she stared past the houses and shops and into the Nara clan's forest.

Then the sky, she glanced at the sky. It was a new moon, dark as it could be in the Leaf Village. Among the stars and ember and smoke, however, she saw something.

With no reason to care, she lowered her head again and clenched her eyes to dispel more tears.

When they opened, she saw a man. A tall man, about sixteen centimetres taller than her. He was clad in black, his arm extended towards her. She frowned, and her fingers twitched without her discretion.

"Don't be afraid," he said. "Don't fear the reaper."

She stared into gorgeous purple eyes that told tales of death, blood, and pain. She felt the terror, disgust, and hatred of others that had done so before her. It lasted not even two seconds as she had taken his hand with no fear.

She watched the flames grow higher, and whispered, "Goodbye..."

And they began to fly.

Now Sakura could become like they were.

She didn't fear the reaper.

She had taken his hand.

OoOoOo

This will probably be the only way I'll ever accomplish a oneshot; inspiration from a song.

I just love it so fucking much.

Like DAYUM it's a beautiful song.

Have a nice day.
