This was a project for hospital-school. I know I need to write the next chapter of "Appletail's Story", but i'm just having trouble with it. Sorry. I'm not giving up though! The chapter will be put up! Thanks for staying with me during my hard time. I appreciate it.
Cinderheart woke with a jolt. The dream had been so real. She knew it was the truth. The gray she-cat longed to go back to sleep, like all the other warriors, peacefully curled up in their nests around her, but the truth had woken her so strongly, that she felt more awake than she ever had before. With adrenaline pumping through her veins, and her heart beating in her ears, she jumped up and stepped carefully out of the den. Once she was out of the warm den, heated with the bodies of her clanmates, she expected her pelt to cool down. She was wrong. It was burning, her mind racing, her heart pumping, and she ran. Cinderheart bolted from the camp. If, perhaps, she had looked more carefully, she would have seen the glowing eyes of Jayfeather behind her...
Who am I? Cinderheart thought as she ran deeper into the forest, towards the lake. Soon, she arrived at her destination, and lay down on the cool grass by the lake. All my life, I thought I was me... but i'm not... not really. She put her head between her paws. I know who I am.. was. Cinderheart corrected herself. I was Cinderpelt. How can I live, knowing everything I know now? The she-cat asked herself the question over and over, until it dawned on her that she would get no answer. I finally understand that feeling I always get around Firestar now... It was love... But not my love for him, Cinderpelt's love. She told herself sharply.
What does this change with me and Lionblaze? Cinderheart snorted. My thoughts, always going back to him. I'm not some sort of lovesick queen... A stab of sadness drove through her chest. She could have been a queen. She could have had a mate, but it can't happen. I wonder how Cinderpelt must feel. Her second shot at life, and she can't get what she was reborn for. Cinderheart looked into the soft waves, and let her thoughts be swept away with them. She lay down. She would think more in the morning. A million unanswered questions blazed through her mind as she fell asleep.
