I sat in my seat anxiously on the plane. We had landed, I was just waiting to get off. I couldnt wait to see Arthur... I hadn't seen him in 6 months.. We had also just adopted a baby girl and she arrived while I was stationed in Affganistan...
"This is your piolet speaking. You may now start boarding off the plane, thank you for flying with us." I grabed my stuff off the seat and stood up quickly. I stepped out into the aisle and swung my backpack over my shoulder. I walked off as quickly as I possibly could. I ran through the dock as quicly as I could pushing past people around me.
Finally I was inside the airport looking around for Arthur when I heard someone to my far right call my name. I looked over and saw him holding a small child in his arms. I pushed through more people as we quickly walked toward eachother. I finally got close enough to scoop him into a hug. I kissed Arthur passionatly as the baby looked up at me. Arthur's eyes and mine were full of tears of joy.
"I missed you so much Alfred..." he smiled up at me.
"I missed you too sweety..." I looked down at the baby who was still looking at me curiously.
"Oh yeah!" he smiled down at her and gently placed her in my arms. "This is our daughter Alice.." I smiled down at her with more tears in my eyes. She was so beautiful and tiny... She was only afew weeks old had the sweetest face I'd ever seen... I tilted my head forward and kissed her forehead. She smiled at me and a small tear streamed down my face slowly. She reached her little arms out toward me. I pulled her closer and rubbed small circles in her back.
Arthur smiled at the two of us sweetly. I was so glad to be back with my husband... and now my daughter... I never wanted to leave. This moment was perfect.
"Lets head home, love..." I looked up at him still holding Alice against my chest. We held hands as we walked through the airport together. I was smiling the whole time and Alice had fallen asleep against my chest. She's so tiny and cute!
We grabed my other small bag off the lugage carosel and headed out. Of course we got strange stares as we walked though the airport holding hands, but I didn't care. I was happy, and nothing else mattered.
Once we got out to the car i carfully stapped our sleepy baby into her car seat. I shoved my bags into the trunk of our Camry and hopeped in the passenger seat. "So, how much has changed...?"
"Everything, since the little one arrived." He smiled up at me as he pulled the car out of the parking garage. "I was able to finish the nursry after you left and it looks just like we wanted it..." He smiled at me again.
"I'm glad..."
