"Welcome demigods, to the first ever Camp Half-Blood Talent Show!" Will Solace cheered.
"First up," Melody continued, "Jeremiah Aiden son of Hephaestus and Drew Ai Daughter of Aphrodite singing an original song!"
Drew came up to the stage with a set up keyboard followed by Jeremiah carrying an acoustic guitar.
"This is a song we wrote together about our relationship called The Lies They Told," Drew explained to the campers. With that she started playing the keyboard as Jeremiah strummed the guitar to a melancholy beat. Jeremiah sang the first verse and chorus to the campers' shock.
She said she loved him
but then she left him
she said she trusted him
but still kept her secrets
when she said she needed him
he froze
cause he could hear it in her voice
this wasn't just one of those unforgivable
lies she told
Chorus: Words whispered in the night
screamed in the day
none of them were true
she said them to hear them back
those were the lies she told
Drew was holding back tears. You could see it on her face.
V2: He said he wanted her
but then he pushed her away
he said he'd be there for her
but left her alone in the cold, rainy night
when he said forever
she froze
cause she could see it in his eyes
this wasn't just one of those stupid little
lies he told
C2:Words whispered in the night
screamed in the day
none of them were true
he never meant them
he said them to hear them back
those were the lies he told
Their voices melded together in heartbreakingly solemn notes for the bridge.
B:All the lies they told each other
yeah they were the truth
but they saw it too late
to save them
like Romeo and Juliet
clock work in forbidden loves
it was too late
the lies were warring with the truth
they never knew the difference
They sounded so angry at each other as they moved into the final chorus.
C3: So the lies they told
tore them apart
and broke their hearts
the unforgivable lies she told
they slowly killed him
and those stupid little lies he told
they did her in
the lies they told were heard
as their final lullaby
The tears fell from their eyes as they gently touched lips to the cheers of Camp Half-Blood.
A/N: The Song is mine. The characters are Rick Riordan's.
