One Last Kiss
A small sigh escaped the Prussian's lips; she was tired of this. Of fighting every chance they had. Of the yells echoing throughout the mansion every single day. It had always been this way between them. Even before they were a couple, one would get on the other's nerves and a fight would break out. It was never usually physical, save for when it was actual war. It's not like she'd fought in any wars recently though, she wasn't even a country anymore.
Soft music floated through the air, the only noise to be heard. At least it was something, silence drove Julchen mad, especially at times like these.
True, the Prussian hadn't been in many relationships before. And before Roderich, anyone she was involved with either wasn't serious about them as a couple, or she hadn't been.
Another sound joined the piano. Footsteps. Julchen walked down the long, twisting hallways, her boot's heels clinking with each step she took on the marble floors. Stopping just out of view of the doorway, she took a deep breath. Roderich would normally transition from one song to the next with no stopping, but he had heard her.
"I think…" Julchen stepped into the room, "we should just end this before it gets worse."
He didn't turn away from the piano, instead just keeping his position on the bench, his back facing her. "Hm?"
"You know what I mean…" she leaned against the doorway. "Us. Obviously, we both suck at relationships, as un-awesome as that is for me."
He turned on the bench, looking her in the eye, though not saying anything.
"Come on, Specs, are you not going to say anything to me?"
Silence.
What she couldn't figure out is why he wouldn't answer. With the way he acts regularly he should have, but…
Maybe he didn't want to end it? Not that she did either, though at this point it was really all they could do. It's not like there was anything to hold onto anymore, or if there even was in the first place. True, they had loved each other, for a long time, too, but it was at the point where it no longer had a spark the moment they even made eye contact.
"Maybe just a final kiss?" Her head tilted to the side, her white hair falling over face.
Then, he sighed. He stood, taking a moment to smooth the wrinkles from his clothes before walking over to her. He enveloped her into a soft kiss, nothing special. It was simple. Nothing like the first time they kissed, or all of the times in between that.
The only special title it earned was one last kiss.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Loosely based off of Pink's "Blow Me One Last Kiss." Because that song fits them all too well. Though this one shot like sucks but you know it kind of happened anyways.
