"Are you okay?"
She didn't respond. The fairy bit her lip softly. "Come on Els. Talk to me."
The Queen sighed. "I don't know, Peri. I know you've always been there for me but...sometimes, I feel like I'm just being selfish."
At this, Peri put her hand on the Queen's shoulder. "Elsa, you've never been selfish."
"I shut my sister out and ignored her for years. I scarred her. Sometimes, I see the signs. Like when I said no to her going out in the snow yesterday because it was colder than usual. She looked really hurt and I realised she must have felt like that for most of her childhood. She had no one to look up to."
"Actually, she did," Peri said. She closed her eyes as Elsa's head snapped up to meet hers.
"What?"
"Have you heard of Jack Frost?"
"Yes, but he's just a silly fairy tale."
"Not so," Periwinkle said. "Anna grew up with him by her side. He helped her cope with her loss."
Elsa went silent, taking the news in before speaking. "So that's why she and Kristoff eventually broke up. Because she had another person she loved in her life."
"Yes. Also, don't forget Kristoff had to go on an expedition to Iceland and he thought it was best if they cut it off."
"It's a shame. They were so perfect together," Elsa sighed sadly. She looked up at Peri, who was hovering in front of her. "Peri, I feel like I'm not there for you."
"Are you kidding?" Peri asked, eyes wide. "Elsa, you always let me rant to you! You let me cry on your shoulder and...you were my friend. " Peri seemed like she was going to say something else, but then closed her mouth.
"No, go on," Elsa encouraged gently.
"I like you more than a friend." Peri bit her lip, casting her eyes down towards the ground.
Elsa was shocked, to say the least. For a moment, she was silent. However, that was enough for Peri to get the wrong message.
"I'll leave." She turned away.
"No!" Elsa grabbed the fairy's hand. Peri looked back and the Queen had to try and calm her nerves.
"Peri, I...I like you too. I didn't know you felt the same way..."
Peri turned and held Elsa's hands, pressing her forehead against hers. "I always will do."
Elsa smiled and their lips met. Both the women's eyes slipped closed as they enjoyed the experience. Then, slowly, Periwinkle pulled away. Elsa saw how the fairy's eyes lit up and she giggled. Peri smiled.
"My Queen."
