There had always been this sparkle in his eye as he starred at her from across the dinner table, she never noticed it. It had become a weekly thing, she'd be over for dinner and he'd stare at her, but she never noticed. Her hair had been like silk, her body was a goddesses, she was everything he wanted, but he was just Campbell Saunders.. She deserved better, he knew that, but he'd never tell her that since all she knew him as was the younger brother of her boyfriend, her athletic and gorgeous boyfriend at least that's what the other girls in his grade said about him. Zoe Rivas was his dream girl, he had sat in the back in the corner of the class and had admired her for what felt like centuries, now his older brother Justin got her, just like everything else he ever wanted.
Dinner tonight was silent, in front of him sat the girl of his dreams, but he dared to say a word. "Campbell, how was school today?" his eyes darted up from the center of his plate, where he had just been pushing the last of his food back and forth, it had been impossible to eat watching her sit with him.. the devil in his eyes. "Fine" he shrugged, not knowing what else to say, it was just school? He had never been too fond of school.
"Hey Cam, could you pass me the salt"
He looked over slowly at the quiet voice that had said that, the first words she had ever spoken to him, ones that he'd go to bed and constantly replay..
"Uh.. Yeah.. Sure.."
