Disclaimer: Once again, I do not own Harry Potter or the song "Addicted to Love." Must I remind you of this?
Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another kiss is what it takes
He couldn't help it. It's not that he didn't love Lily, he clearly did, and after all he had stalked the girl for seven years. But it was more like and addiction, like a drunk and his fire whisky. That was it; he was addicted to Lily Evans.
You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another kiss is all you need
"Get away from me Potter!" Lily had shrieked in Charms class that day, that one fateful day.
"I, I didn't do anything," James mumbled, nervously glancing over at Sirius who was entering near hysterics. It's not like James had meant for the mouse to fall down the back of Lily's robe. It was an accident, if that's what James wanted to call it.
James slunk into his chair and glared over and Sirius and Remus. "Thanks for helping me," he said.
"Ah, mate. Any time," Sirius smirked and put his feet up on the corner of the table, causing yet another girl to swoon from behind him. "It's about time you give up on Evans... seven years hasn't gotten you anywhere."
"Oh no, Sirius. That would be doubting our dear Prongsy," Remus grinned. "He'll get somewhere. Eventually. But I'll tell you the reason he likes her; James just wants to get right down her-"
"MOONY!"
"-pants."
James shot a rather menacing look towards Remus and replied, "No, that's not it."
"What is it then, mate?" Sirius said rather nonchalantly while charming his mushroom to run around in little circles.
James blushed a rather deep shade of pink. "I love her," he whispered gently.
Screeching rather loudly, Remus and Sirius fell from their chairs and landed in a heap on the ground.
"You just keep thinking that, Prongs."
You see the signs, but you can't read
You're running' at a different speed
Your heart beats in double time
Another kiss and you'll be mine, a one track mind
At lunch, James plopped down next to Lily expectedly. "Hello, honey bee," he cooed before kissing her on the ear.
Lily flinched. It was a reaction really, after all, she was plenty used to it, sometimes enjoying it. But, it was hard to hate his kisses and show of affections when they were so playful and....
"Lil!" Nancy Longbottom hissed in Lily ear, disrupting the sentimental bliss Lily experienced daily.
But no, Lily didn't love him. Well, this year anyways.
You can't be saved
Oblivion is all you crave
If there's some left for you
You don't mind if you do
"You're a complete nutter," Peter squeaked in his annoyingly high-pitched voice while gesturing to the piece of paper that James was doodling on. "Just give up already."
James however continued to scribble little hearts in his scratchy writing. Coincidently the hearts contained the words "Lily Potter" in them.
He wouldn't give up, never.
Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
Sorry James but,
You know you're going to have to face it, you're addicted to love
Authors Note: Read and Review please. I know it's not the best in the world, but James is so sweet and full of fluffiness that I just had to write about him. Besides, all girls need a James in their lives.
