"Hey, wake up, we're here," I hear a voice speaking to me in the darkness. Something touches my shoulder. I open my eyes to see my best friend, Brian. "Finally you're awake, took forever for you to wake up," He says. I sit up in my chair and rub my eyes awake.
"Sorry, I slept too hard," I admit
"It's cool. We're finally here though," Brian replies
I look outside the airplane window to see a sunny city. "It's beautiful," I say.
"Indeed it is," Says Brian admiring the sunny view. A female voice comes on the P.A and welcomes the people on the plane to Santa Barbara, California. A few minutes later, people begin to collect their belongings and leave the plane. Brian and I are seated in the middle of the plane and have to wait a minute or two until we finally exit the plane. As we walk down the airport towards the exit, Brian calls a taxi number listed on a flyer that an employee handed out on the plane for tourists. Although we came to live here and not visit, the flyer has useful information. We arrive at the front gates of the airport and await our taxi, which arrives about six minutes after.
"86 Avenue, Ember Road," I give the address to the driver. The drive is moderately long and takes about 45 minutes to arrive at the house. We pay the driver 26 dollars and get out. Brian and I just stand in front of the house, admiring its architecture. We decide to walk inside because of the humidity. It's spacious on the inside. Brian and I moved to California because we were offered a job that pays really well. We just graduated college with a bachelors in architecture and want to put it to work.
"Our furniture should be arriving tomorrow," Brian says as he walks into the kitchen.
"I hope so; I don't want to sleep on the floor for two days straight," I reply.
"Janice said she would let us sleep over for a few days if we want. She has wifi so you can watch the YouTube videos you're obsessed with."
"It's not my fault that I enjoy people playing video games."
"It's not only the video games but isn't there this one guy who you love, like, a lot?"
I blush at this question, "Maybe…who's asking?"
"Oh, please, just give me his name. I know you like one of those commentators on YouTube. His name was Lieutenant Glitter wasn't it?"
"He's Captain Sparklez and I have every reason to love him," I say thinking about him. Jordan Maron is undoubtedly the cutest, hottest YouTuber today. Everything about him is perfect. The best part about coming to Santa Barbara besides the job, was that Jordan lives here. I fantasize about meeting him.
"So should I call Janice and tell here we're sleeping over?"
"Yeah…that'd be great," I reply.
