Bewitched Warmth
By SMYGO4EVA
11: 59 p.m. No one bothered to see what the time was that night. Téa and Ryou just sat against the wall in his room, thinking of what to do or what to say next. It was way too quiet. When they began to talk, it was near 11: 30 p.m. Now, for the past 30 minutes, they hadn't said anything. They were too busy pondering in the darkness. The only light provided was the moon's glow from the open window.
Téa turned to Ryou, who contemplated while staring at the ground. "Ryou?" She asked him, concern evident her voice.
The white-haired boy's attention shifted back to reality as he turned to face her. "Yes?"
She stared at him for a moment, and then spoke. "Tell me. Did you ever feel loneliness when I wasn't around?" She scooched a little closer to him, eye to eye. "Did you?"
She saw his chocolate eyes soften as he turned away from her.
"Yes. I did. Without you, I couldn't think straight…I felt weak. You were my strength, Tea, and at times, you helped me succeed in things I couldn't do alone." He sounded as if he was going to cry, and it was true because Téa saw tears developing.
Ryou blinked a couple of times, trying to hide the waterfall of tears but only revealing them as two lone tears slid down his porcelain face. "I thank you for that, dear Téa," The pale-haired boy continued, his voice starting to crack under emotion. "Thank you."
Two beautiful words was it all it took for Téa to take Ryou into her arms in a loving embrace. She smiled slightly, overwhelmed by the placid vibrations of the articulated words. Even though she could feel Ryou's tears, she didn't care.
"I love you, Ryou." She replied. It was true; she did love him…no matter what, she always would.
Ryou slid his head down so his head would be placed on her chest, tears rolling down his face. He didn't know why exactly. Téa felt him tremble in her arms, so they both separated their bodies from each other.
She crawled over to him, reached out a hand so she would feel his face. The pale haired boy stared; tears stained his face as Téa looked at him almost studiously.
Ryou had this ethereal beauty that she couldn't resist, brown eyes that were so mesmerizing she would stare at them all the time. And his personality…where to start? He was kind, thoughtful, smart, funny, and attractive. What more could she want?
As she slowly wiped the remains of salty liquid from Ryou's face, she leaned in, hesitant at first, but then closed the distance between them with a kiss.
