The Hogwarts Record
Yet another Plot Bunny that just would not leave me alone. This one was a biter too. Anywho all I got to say is I sadly don't own that. I mean seriously I wouldn't be writing fan fiction if I did… or maybe I would be, I never said my sanity was intact.
It was the last feast for the graduating class. There was much enjoyment and merrymaking to go around.
The Marauders sat at the Gryffindor table one last time. Peter, James and Lily on one side, Sirius and Remus on the other. All of them laughing at some inane little joke, and recalling fond memories of their time as students at the school.
Dumbledore got up as the food magically cleared itself with a wave of his hand. The old professor was smiling genially out at the crowd of newly graduated students. He knew that for some it would be the last time he saw them, but for others not the last time by a long shot.
"Well ladies and gentlemen, this is your last evening here at Hogwarts as a student. I do hope you've enjoyed your time here. Well I have some last minute things to announce. Firstly I would like to congratulate Mr. Potter on finally wooing Miss Evans." Lily turned bright red at this announcement, James waving at the crowd applauding him.
"I would also like to announce that a Hogwarts record has been broken by one of your classmates," this time there was a cacophony of applause, though none of them knew of what this record was. They didn't care the fact was that someone had finally broken one of the Hogwarts records.
"Mr. Black, I am pleased I suppose, to announce has broken the record for most detentions in his seven year tenure at this school," Dumbledore finished as Sirius got up on the table bowing to his applauding public.
"Well I am more than pleased to accept this great honour. I have a few people that I need to thank, who have all contributed to my detentions in the largest ways. I sincerely doubt that I could name all the people who helped me in my earnings of detentions.
"Firstly, I would like to thank Minnie, without whom I would probably not have had even half the detentions that I got. Thanks Minnie," Sirius said with a wink in Minerva McGonagall's direction. The afore mentioned teacher just shook her head at one of her more boisterous student's direction.
Sirius continued, "I would also have to thank Mr. Filthy Filch and his lover Mrs. Norris. Thanks to them for catching me constantly out of bed past curfew. And of course the people to whom I am most indebted to for my detentions. My fellow co-conspirators, Messers Moony, Prongs and Wormtail. Without whom I would not have gotten up to anywhere near as much mischief, and without whom school would have been a much duller place."
Sirius finally concluded with his thanks to his three best friends and a sweeping bow before jumping off the table. There was a deafening round of applause following his little speech from the vast majority of the student body.
"Well that was a little unconventional Mr. Black, but thank you for the speech." Dumbledore got up and said as Sirius tipped his imaginary hat at the Headmaster.
Dumbledore continued with the rest of the final announcements and congratulations to the graduating class. Although the Marauders were no longer paying attention, focusing more on some of the more spectacular reasons Sirius had landed detentions.
