Remember My Name- Ember McLain

The funeral was a simple one. There was not much ado about the ceremony or the way the girl had died at all. When the coffin was laid down into the earth, it started to rain.

The people didn't know that the person they were talking about in hushed voice was standing among them. Ember McLain was watching her own funeral, though unknown to others. The moment the electric jolt stroke her, she drifted away from her body that laid sprawled on the floor of her parent's garage.

She had kept the guitar she'd got the final shock from. It should simply remind her why she lost her life at the age of 17 and started a new, everlasting existence- an existence that had only room for two things…

Her music, and the hatred towards the person that made her play the last tune on her guitar, the reason why she cut off her ponytail and changed her personality from the core. Her ponytail, however, had returned, a caricature of her former life. It whirled around her now and cast a bright shine on her chalk white face, while the rain came down like tears from heaven.

Ember turned around, closing her neon-green eyes. She had given up everything for him, her school her friends, her family… and her life. Now, he just repaid her with dropping her into a bottomless pit of despair.

"But he'll pay." Ember told herself. She took her guitar and brushed over the strings. A small tune rang out, soon extended to a full song… a song that reflected her feelings like a shard of glass in the sun.

It was, it was September

Wind blows, the dead leaves fall.

It had been September when she finally discovered the truth. The trees had been already covered in yellow, orange and red leaves, as if being adorned with spatters of paint.

To you, I did surrender,

two weeks, you didn't call.

She had been waiting for a call from him…

Your life goes on without me,

my life, a losing game.

But she'd get her payback… her life had been shattered to bits, was in ruins the moment she found out about him.

But you should, you should not doubt me.

You will remember my name.

Ember, you will remember

Ember, one thing remains.

Ember, so warm and tender

You will remember my name.

Your heart, your heart has mended,

you're wrong, now bear the shame.

And then, her hopes and dreams were shattered like glass in the cold of a December morning, the shards cutting into her heart deeply.

Like pleasant dreams

in cold December-

nothing but ashes remains.

Her hopes were burned to ashes that would disappear- away from everyone's heart and mind forever.

Ember, you will remember

Ember, one thing remains.

Ember, so warm and tender

You will remember my name.

Oh, Ember, you will remember

Ember, one thing remains.

Ember, so warm and tender

You will remember my name.

Yeah, you will remember my name.

"I'll haunt you for this." Ember McLain said, her pale cheeks reddening with fury. "Forever, I'll haunt you… You will remember my name…"
