Oh my…". Payson's voice trailed off, but she sounded very amused. "Um, Emily. You have to see this."

They were sitting at a small table at an outdoor cafe in Boulder. Emily was looking around and enjoying the sights and the warm weather. Payson was on her phone.

Emily looked across at Payson skeptically. "See what?" she asked slowly.

"Brace yourself," Payson said, smiling widely, looking at Emily closely. She handed Emily her phone.

Emily gasped, but tried to cover it up. She failed. She was looking at a picture of Damon, which she did far more often than she cared to admit. But she definitely had a new favorite picture of Damon. Her Damon. Holding a baby. Damon holding a baby.

"You doing okay there?" Payson said with a laugh.

Emily looked across the table again at Payson. She tried her best to act casual. "it's cute," Emily said shortly, handing Payson's phone back to her. "That must have been at one of his meet and greets after his shows."

Payson rolled her eyes. "You're ridiculous."

"It's just a picture, Pay," Emily said. "Just a picture of Damon. Holding a baby."

"Now we're getting somewhere," Payson said happily. "You'd make some good looking babies together."

"Payson!" Emily hissed, glancing at the crowded café around them. No one seemed to be paying them any attention.

"Tell me you haven't thought about it. Go on. Tell me you don't want to have his babies."

despite her best efforts, Emily couldn't come up with a response quickly enough.

Payson laughed. "That's what I thought."

"So, what?" Emily said defensively. "So I've thought about us together. I mean, we pretty much are together. It's just… complicated. Being apart and having to keep everything so quiet because of the media."

"You didn't answer my question. Do you want to have his babies or not?"

Emily shrugged, but then she finally smiled. "I wouldn't say no to that."
