Irony:Eyes
The kind of eyes that looked alive even on paper. Jak had those eyes. Deep blue sapphire eyes that was like the ocean. Dark and stormy when angry. Cerulean and bright when happy. Dull when in shock.
His dark side had those eyes as well. They were deep and black, full of anger and pain.
Many thought those eyes were like the abyss, swallowing you in all of its empty dead nothingness. No, his eyes were not like that. Instead those eyes of his were like a cracked mirror, reflecting all that was wrong about humanity. In those eyes you saw the deepest darkest part of you, the one you want to lock away and forget it ever existed. But those eyes will not let you forget, it will force you to confront it and face it before you die. Those deep black eyes were the last things, many saw.
And last of all, was Jak's light side. Those eyes did not look alive in paper. Instead, they looked peaceful. Peaceful and dead. You could lose yourself in those eyes that held nothing but glowing peaceful contentment. Yet those dead eyes brought hope to the few that saw them. Those few will say those eyes are alive, glowing with white light. They are wrong. Ever heard of the light at the end of the tunnel? Those eyes are that light.
They may be peaceful but they hold nothing. Just mindless calm contentment.
In battle, he is detached and calm. When the combat is over, he stands tall and proud but he is still lost to that peaceful calming light. That is not living. Life is vibrant and violent. Forever changing and evolving. Not stagnant and still. Life is only static in death and even then it will change and break down into its most basic components.
The dark one is angry. But he is alive. His eyes reflect the constant struggle that is life. Life is filled with rage, sorrow, pain, and love. Many see the first three in the dark one's obsidian eyes but few notice the faint glimmer of adoration and gratitude, he holds for the orange one that sits on his shoulder. Yet those living eyes of his bring death to many. In his own dark twisted way, he reminds you to cherish life for it is fleeting and easily lost.
Ironic is it not? The dark one brings Death yet he lives while the light one brings Life but he is dead.
