Dream Into Arda
Eyelids drop, from pain, for sleep
I dream
the Lady of the Stars beckons me
I walk into paradise
They welcome me, I see
the Imperishable Flame, the Secret Fire
Burns in their understanding eyes
The Lady of Lamentation, she smiles
Her tears comfort me,
eases the unwanted pain
I smile happily, content here
in this place, with no death, no hurt
Just beauty, just love
And he appears, not a god,
yet not a Firstborn
Special, seeking happiness, just like me
He puts his arms around me
I know peace
He speaks, a language ancient,
and beautiful
I understand, staring in wonder
Olorin, and the Lady of Light
The elven prince, his stout friend
And the loyal gardener,
all there, welcoming me
A dream come true
For a couple of hours
I know paradise, and then
A ringing in my ears
Forcing me to say farewell
'Namarie' graces my lips
And I open my eyes
Willing to face the day
But waiting for paradise,
when I close my eyes again
