Never
Cho sat behind her desk; she was reading a long forgotten love-letter. Her eyes were brimming with tears. Her only daughter had gone off to Hogwarts that very morning, and she must be sleeping by now. Cho wondered which house she'd made, but in all honesty it didn't matter.
The letter was from Cedric. Back from her own Hogwarts days, her fifth year, to be precise. The letter was filled with sweet words of promised love, clichéd compliments and stories of what he'd done on his vacations. She'd kept it all these years. And she'd never throw it away. Just like she'd never discard the memories she shared with him. Her first love.
"Cho?" The door to the study opened. Her eyes flew up and she quickly folded the letter. "Reading it again?"
She nodded, her hair falling over her eyes. Her husband walked to stand behind her and he bent over.
"You still miss him, don't you?" He asked.
She nodded. He held out his hand and pulled her up.
"No amount of words will ever make it all right, I know." He whispered into her hair.
At that moment a tawny brown owl flew through the window. It landed on the desk and held out his leg. Cho reached for it and untied the note. The bird nibbled her finger affectionately before taking off again. The couple figured it meant the sender didn't want a reply.
She unrolled the note.
Dear mum and dad
I made Hufflepuff! Isn't it fantastic? And I made a new friend – Lily Potter. She's in Gryffindor, though.
Love

Cho burst out in happy tears.
She had Cedric back.
