Looking Out for Sayo
Someone has to look out for her when Chief Julia's not there, and like all of Chief Julia's other duties, that falls to him.
Maybe he's a little too relieved. Maybe that's why he hasn't delegated the task to somebody else – not that he can really afford to. She's the only one getting results, and she's flying through the ranks in record time to do it.
It's hardly his fault no-one else can keep up with her. It's hardly his fault that she'll leave him in the dust soon, and then there'll only be Chief Julia (and where is Chief Julia, anyway?) to reach toward. Anyone would feel that pride. And he felt it before all them, when he watched her take down those Vilemon by herself.
Like a proud big brother, he was. Watching his little sister shoot to the moon, into the night, and surpassing him.
He'd blink next time and she'd be a Platinum tamer and out of even his reach.
